3G/3H - check this out on Lead Portal

Dear students,

If you are interested in finding out more about air pressure, check out this Video Experiment on Lead Portal!

1. Log into Lead Portal
2. At the navigation bar: My Subjects > Physics > Live Physics
3. Under Topic Listing: Pressure > Bubble in a Bottle
4. Watch the "Video Discussion" and see the "Explanation"

The explanation in today's lesson "Passing through Ice" includes some very interesting information on chocolates. If you're interested in the formation of the several crystal forms of chocolate, here's an interesting article for you - "Chocolate - The Noblest Polymorphism": Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3.

So the next time you eat some chocolate, don't forget there's a lot of science behind this sweet and satisfying substance that melts slowly in your mouth. Have fun!

Brain Awareness Week 2014

A message from Singapore Science Centre:

As part of the International Brain Awareness Week, Science Centre will be organising some exciting mind-boggling activities. Look at real-life brain sections of various species and try your hands (and mind) on different mind-controlled video games. Satisfy your curiosity regarding the inner workings of the brain with talks by neuroscientists on sleep and what’s it like to be a Scientist.

More details can be found on our website, as well as a synopsis of the talks: Brain Awareness Week 2014
